The Paraguana Peninsula in Venezuela is positioned as a focal point for Chinese investment. On Wednesday, a delegation led by Dr. Tao Yitao, Director of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zones Research Centre, visited the area, accompanied by a group of entrepreneurs interested in exploring the region’s productive potential.

 The tour included stops at the Zona Franca Industrial, the Wind Farm, the Naval Shipyards, and the International Port of Guaranao, where they observed the interest of Chinese investors in developing projects in various sectors such as technology, education, food, energy, and textiles.

Dr. Yitao expressed her enthusiasm for the potential of the Paraguana EEZ, stressing that this area has the resources to consolidate a solid industrial base in a relatively short time.

In his speech, he stressed that this collaboration is not only based on mutual economic interests but also results from a cultural and strategic exchange promoted by the leaders of both nations.

The mention of President Nicolás Maduro and Vice President Delcy Rodríguez highlights the Venezuelan government’s commitment to attracting foreign investment and promoting economic development through strong partnerships.

The arrival of the Chinese delegation coincides with the 25th edition of the World Forum on Special Economic Zones, which will be held between December 12 and 13 in Caracas.

 This event will not only serve as a platform to discuss investment opportunities but also reaffirm Venezuela’s role as a strategic partner in the region for China, which seeks to expand its economic and political influence in Latin America.
